Ippongi Kubohonten

Ippongi Kubohonten

Fukui Prefecture

The name of the brewery "Ippongi" comes from Zen language meaning "supreme truth, a state that achieves the greatest knowledge". The history of the brewery goes back to 1902. It is located in Fukui prefecture beneath the Mt Haku, the best location for sake brewing with clean water and beautiful rice fields. Their famous "Denshin" brand is brewed differently with seasonality. It literally means "heart-to-heart" because the brewers believe that people may be able to communicate but not easily by heart. They want "Denshin" to be droplets of magic that acts as liaison.
