What’s your style of sake?

What’s in the April 2020 Box?

Now available! The April box features the following sake: Fukuju “Blue” with a luscious, mango-pineapple aroma; Denshin “Yuki” with a pure, refreshing taste; and Kamotsuru “Namakakoi Junmai” which is an excellent example of namachozo, sake pasteurized only once before shipping.

Fukuju “Blue”

Ginjo

The intense blue bottle is easily recognizable and reminiscent of deep, tropic waters. Once poured, a luscious, mango-pineapple aroma fills your nose, like being on an island full of fruit trees. Allow yourself to melt into the sweetness which has attracted sommeliers around the globe, and even landed this sake a spot being served at the Nobel Prize banquet dinner. Sake of this quality satisfies whether paired with a meal, or served by itself.

Denshin “Yuki”

Ginjo

This pure rice ginjo is brewed with water that started as snow in the mountains around the brewery and, over many years, melted then filtered through the earth. This gives the sake a pure, refreshing taste, but enough transparency for you to notice the nuanced smoothness. Like catching snowflakes on your tongue or frolicking in fresh powder, the flavor will whisk you away to the beautiful slopes of pristine, snowy mountains.

Kamotsuru “Namakakoi Junmai”

Junmai, Namachozo

Kamotsuru “Namakakoi Junmai” is an excellent example of namachozo, sake that is pasteurized only once before shipping. Brewed slowly in winter, this sake bursts forth fresh, like a flower bud that has waited for spring. “Namakakoi Junmai” is just a touch dry and eases into a clean finish. Its light body floats effortlessly over your palate to fill you with joy. If you’re new to namachozo, this should be one of your first tastes.
