What’s your style of sake?

What’s in the February 2020 Box?

Now available! The February box features the following sake: Sakura Muromachi “Bizen Maboroshi” made with rare Bizen Omachi rice; Tamano Hikari “Classic,” a fine yamahai sake from Kyoto; and Hakkaisan “Kijoshu,” a luxury amber-colored sake with dense flavor full of nectar, sugar and custard.

Sakura Muromachi “Bizen Maboroshi”

Ginjo

This flavorful ginjo sake is made with 100% “Bizen Omachi” rice, which is quite rare, expensive, and difficult to obtain. It has a light and sweet aroma, and is delicious when chilled. This particular rice was once called a “miracle” due to difficulty in its production. Its floral ginjo aromas will hit your palate followed by a rich taste. Subtle accents of sourness and spiciness combine in a rounded yet refreshing finish.

Tamano Hikari “Classic”

Ginjo

True sake lovers will be satisfied with a glass of yamahai sake. Tamano Hikari Brewing Company spends extra time and care during the brewing process, but the result is well worth the wait. This junmai ginjo boldly mixes acidity and sweetness into a unique flavor. Open up to a new sake experience and add this one to your collection.

Hakkaisan “Kijoshu”

Kijoshu

Hakkaisan “Kijoshu” pours an elegant amber color that has been developed over a three-year aging period. Like all good things, excellent sake takes time. The wait results in a mellow-textured sake with strong fragrance and dense flavor full of nectar, sugar and custard. To produce “Kijoshu”, the brewery uses sake (instead of water) in the final brewing stage, giving this sake its unique, otherworldly flavor.
