Toshimaya Honten is the oldest existing brewery in all of Tokyo! It started out as an
in 1596, and the fact that it’s still around today is a testament to the quality of its sake. The water used in production comes from an underground system stemming from Mt. Fuji itself, and the brewers work their magic with the mountain’s gift to brew award-winning sake. With such recent accomplishments as receiving “Kura Master 2020” Junmai Sake Category Platinum Award and 2019 and 2020 Annual Japan Sake Awards, it’s clear that the brewers at Toshimaya Honten are dedicated as ever.
