Yamagata prefecture
The team at Tatenokawa has pushed the limit of sake by polishing the rice to an astonishing 18%, lower than anywhere else in Japan. The Tatenokawa is a world-class sake with marvelous aromatics and impressive flavors. The silky structure plays out sweetly on your tongue, especially when chilled, although we suggest you experiment with temperature to find what suits you best. A rare gem and the height of luxury, this is a one-of-a-kind must try.
Tatenokawa is made in Yamagata prefecture in the Tohoku region.

Tatenokawa Brewing Company
Who would have thought that a sake brewery founded in 1832 would develop a cutting edge identity hundreds of years later? Tatenokawa’s ambition (achieving 1% rice polishing ratio) and global friendships (Foo Fighters and “Phoenix”) has gained much attention in the last two decades to go along with a deep respect for their traditional methods and unwavering quality. They even have a playful brand honoring a tabby cat that wandered into their brewery called Tatenyan. They are one of the few breweries who that only produce junmai daiginjo today, reaching fans globally with products that will ultimately impress you ultimately with their delicious flavor.
