This sake is brought to you through the collaboration of Tatenokawa Brewing Company and Grammy Award-winning French rock band, Phoenix. The members of Phoenix had a long standing friendship with the late sake expert Toshiro Kuroda, so they decided there was no better way to honor their friend than help produce a sake he would be happy to drink. Rising flavors of apple and Asian pear play out passionately on your palate. Plus, you can sip Phoenix with a happy heart knowing a portion of all sales is donated to the Red Cross Society, in honor of Mr. Kuroda.
Tatenokawa is brewed in Yamagata Prefecture in the Tohoku region.
Tatenokawa Brewing Company
Tatenokawa represents lightness and transparency of a clean river. The 180 years of history never interfere with their continuous challenge to achieve the highest quality. It was the first sake brewery in Yamagata that decided to brew exclusively “Junmai Daiginjo” class sake and they continue to do so while providing their high quality sake at affordable prices. Nearly all the rice they use for production is locally grown “Miyamanishiki” and “Dewasansan.” In 2014, ANA International picked this sake for their First Class and Business Class sake.
