The fruit used for flavoring this yuzu sake is all naturally derived, and uses no artificial sweeteners or pigments to ensure a real, fresh flavor. The base sake is junmai, which lends a pleasant rice essence to the gently sweet citrus flavor of the yuzu. I love Yuzu Sake and this one definately is going on my favorite list.
This is what I wish lemoncello was. When I first tasted this, my first thought was, "what should I pour this over?" I discovered ice, small cut ice was my answer. It is sweet and smooth. Oh so smooth. It is very citrusy. Very. If I drink too much, straight I start getting hints of citrus rind. But it never gets bitter, but there is that hint, if I imbibe too much. I will definitely order this again.
Excellent Yuzu sake, tart refreshing and easy to drink
If you like yuzu you'll love this. It has just the right citrus zing and the creaminess is unique.
Sour, sweet, and creamy. If you love yuzu, GO FOR IT! The peach and apple varieties are insanely delicious, too!
It tastes almost exactly like a lemon flavored SweetTart candy, except with an alcohol hint! I swear, it's going to be dangerous stuff because it's so good you hardly taste the alcohol in it at all. I'm loving it!
Don't question it and just BUY IT RIGHT NOW. Be sure to put it over ice, and be as refreshed as you ever have been! I'm someone who's tried different alcohol here and there (wine, hard cider, a dry sake, lemon drop, beer, etc) but never enjoyed any of them. Sake always looks so pretty and I'm minoring in Japanese so I wanted to find one I would like. I looked for a rich and sweet sake, one with a lower alcohol content. I love citrus so when I saw Yuzutoro I thought this might just be it. AND IT WAS. With this sake I can actually understand why you wouldn't just buy some lemonade, which might sound a little silly but is usually what I thought after trying alcohol before. It has a complex and lovely flavor! If you've never had yuzu it tastes like different citrus mixed together (orange, lemon, and closest to a kumquat flavor to me). Especially if you're someone who is hesitant when trying or choosing alcohol I would 10 out of 10 recommend this wonderful drink! I will be buying this again for sure in the future :) It even makes me want to try others from this brand like the Umetoro and Natsuhaze-fruity. I'll be trying the Momotoro soon since it's available on this site. Thank you for supplying the first alcohol I've ever enjoyed Tippsy Sake!
This was a little sweet for my taste but I just love yuzu and it hits the spot on that note. I added seltzer to it and it was delicious as well.
Very citrusy and surprisingly creamy, almost like a nigori. Best as a dessert sake.
