Named “Occidental” which means“ of the West,” this sake definitely holds true to its name. The folks at Brooklyn Kura have created this truly unique American craft sake by utilizing dry hops, which gives this drink its pale pink hue. The bouquet is emboldened with a yeasty, IPA-like hint that boosts the delightful floral aroma. This sake's velvety smooth citrus and fruit flavor is perfectly balanced to make you say, “Ahhhh.”

Brooklyn Kura is committed to creating a new tradition of American craft sake. The owner, Brian Polen, and toji, Brandon Doughan, met in Japan and found they both shared the goal of making a true craft American sake. After experimenting for a few years, they officially opened their taproom in Brooklyn, NY in 2016. Since its opening, Brooklyn Kura has had the blessed fortune to get advice from some of Japan’s top breweries like Hakkaisan, Nanbu Bijin, Rihaku, among many others. It is with great honor and dedication that the folks at Brooklyn Kura bring their special brand of sake to the world.
