A drop of honey to bless your lips

Brewed to reflect sake from Yamagata prefecture Honkara is an abbreviation for “Honjozo Karakuchi”, which is a classic type of sake. Honjozo’s are rich and robust. “Karakuchi” means it is dry. This Honkara is a wonderful representation of the style. It has a light and silky mouthfeel, some marshmallow sweetness, and a crisp dry finish. It can be enjoyed chilled, at room temperature or gently warmed.

Nakao Brewing Company

Nakao Brewing Company

Hiroshima prefecture

The Nakao Sake Brewery was established in 1871. It soon started using the brand name Seikyo, which means “True Mirror.” The brewery selected this name for its symbolism: the sake in the cup is like a mirror of which it is hoped that (in its taste) it truly reflects the heart of the brewer. Since then they continue in the spirit of “True heart and true intentions” of the founder and are still brewing sake with total commitment.
