A beautiful city Kuroe has been famous for lacquerware craft and arts for 1000 years. In 1866 Nate brewery started to serve sake to the craftsmen in the city. They name their sake after the rock shaped like a black cow at the shore near the brewery. Before the world war, the company extended its business to investing in real estate and trading, but during the war it lost all the assets except their brewery. Since then they never aimed to expand business while other breweries became large-scale production and mainstream. They kept its business small and maintain small production to produce just the right amount of good quality product to serve the people that love their products.
