Nakagawa Brewing Company

Nakagawa Brewing Company has been brewing sake in Niigata prefecture since 1888. The kura is in Nagaoka, which is the city with the greatest number of breweries. Approximately 70% of what they make is consumed within the prefecture, so count yourself lucky that you’re now able to get it in the U.S.! They use underground water that flows from the mountains behind the brewery, and mainly rely on Niigata-grown rice. They brew during the coldest months of the year for naturally cleaner air and low-temperature fermentation. Every part of the process is done by hand!
